Queer
Queer explores the layered nature of identity and the beauty of coexistence in difference. It is composed of the encounter between two forms that are both autonomous and interconnected: one holds a warm, golden interior, while the other embraces a deep violet amethyst. Rather than seeking symmetry, the composition searches for a harmony of tensions and contrasts.
As a piece of jewellery, the work interprets the notion of “queer” not solely as an identity category, but more broadly as a metaphor for divergence from norms, individuality, and self-authenticity. Its open, organic forms evoke the possibility of continuous transformation, while the juxtaposition of different surfaces and materials expresses the natural existence of multiplicity and diversity.
The deep violet radiance of the amethyst suggests the intensity of inner life, while the polished silver and gilded interior surfaces symbolize the dialogue between visible and concealed aspects of the self. The ring is at once vulnerable and powerful, intimate and ceremonial.
Queer is a wearable sculpture—a monument to the idea that identity is not a static condition but a continuous movement, in which difference is not an exception but one of the essential sources of beauty and human diversity.
